Justin Trudeau exonerated Chief Poundmaker in a special ceremony in Treaty 6 territory Thursday. The Prime Minister visited Poundmaker Cree Nation in Saskatchewan, where he apologized to community members for Canada’s treatment of their nation’s former chief, unjustly convicted of treason more than 130 years ago.
